Surf Trip | Kauai, Summer 2025.
T-REEF Surfboardのライダーたち、そして家族を含めた14人で訪れた今回のサーフトリップ。ただの旅じゃない。
自分にとっては“原点”に戻る旅だった。

カウアイ。
それはT-REEF Surfboardのルーツであり、
そして、自分にシェイピングを教えてくれた大先生「ディック・ブルーワー」が生きた島。

今日は、奥様のシェリーさんのご厚意で、先生が暮らしていた家からアトリエ、最後まで乗っていたボード、そしてその手でシェイプを続けていたシェープルームまで案内していただいた。

そこに広がっていたのは、時が止まったような空間。
シェイプ途中のフォームが置かれ、
先生の手の跡がそのまま残っていた。

言葉にならないほど、神秘的だった。
空間ごとエネルギーを放っていた。
師がいたその場所に、今、自分たちが立っている。
そう思った瞬間、胸が熱くなった。

このルーツを、仲間たちの目で見てもらえたこと。
そして、そのパワーを確かに感じてくれたことが、何より嬉しかった。
T-REEF Surfboardは、ここから生まれた。
そして、これからも繋がっていく。

Fourteen of us—riders, friends, and family—came to this island not just to surf, but to return to where it all began.

Kauai is the birthplace of T-REEF Surfboard.
And the place where my shaping journey started—guided by the legendary Dick Brewer, who showed me what it means to craft boards with soul.

Today, thanks to his wife Sherry, we were welcomed into his world.
His home, his atelier, the last board he rode.
And finally, his shaping room—untouched, handprints still on the wall, foam mid-shape on the rack.

The room held a silence that said everything.
We felt it.
The presence. The spirit. The roots.

And I’m grateful my crew got to feel that, too.
T-REEF was born here.
And that spirit lives on in every board we shape.
